AJATE Overview

The African Journal of Agriculture, Technology, and Environment (AJATE) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal established in 2012 by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. AJATE publishes original research findings and preliminary communications on diverse aspects of agriculture, forestry, biotechnology, environment, and related research areas in food processing, packaging, handling, and environmental engineering. Articles published by AJATE provide some knowledge that can facilitate sustainable development in Africa, help solve global food security problems, and address emerging issues on technology and their effect on the environment. Occasionally, review articles on topical issues may be invited and published after review by a Consulting Editor and an Associate Editor. A limited number of hard copies of each issue is printed for distribution to libraries etc., and some adverts are allowed.

AJATE was first published in printed version (ISSN: 2315-8042) for Volumes 1-3 and online (e-ISSN: 2346-7290) version in PDF have been made available from Volume 4.

AJATE has been published twice per annum, but from 2023, the frequency has been increased to 4 times annually (March, June, September, and December)

All articles published in AJATE are online and open access. As an Open Access Journal, publication fees of twenty-five thousand to thirty thousand (₦25,000.00 – ₦30,000.00) is charged depending on the length of the articles. This will help cover the range of publishing services we offer. This includes providing online tools for editors, reviewers, and authors, producing and hosting articles.
